Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

As the oldest children in the school, Year 6 experience many exciting opportunities including our residential trip, the end of year production and their leavers’ assembly which celebrates their experiences at and contribution to North Ealing Primary School.

They are increasingly independent and act as role models for the younger children around the school, for example, as monitors and house captains. Along with all the other years at North Ealing, Year 6 enjoys a broad, purposeful and rich curriculum with plenty of exciting opportunities to develop cultural capital.

In the summer term, the children also spend a lot of time thinking about and discussing their transition to high school. Of course, the Year 6 children also work hard, particularly in preparation for their SATs in May, but they still find plenty of time to enjoy their final year at primary school.

Home Learning

Maths
Maths is set on Tuesday and is due to be completed by the following Tuesday. This will usually be on MyMaths

Spellings
Spellings are also set on Tuesday and are due to be completed by the following Tuesday. Spelling will be handed out as a paper copy and will also be put on Google Classroom

English
English (science or topic) is set on Wednesday and is due the following Tuesday

Reading
Reading records: 2 entries per week are due each Tuesday. Please make sure you check and sign your child’s reading record each week before they hand it in
