Year Groups

Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

As the oldest children in the school, Year 6 experience many exciting opportunities including our residential trip, the end of year production and their leavers’ assembly which celebrates their experiences at and contribution to North Ealing Primary School.

They are increasingly independent and act as role models for the younger children around the school, for example, as monitors and house captains. Along with all the other years at North Ealing, Year 6 enjoys a broad, purposeful and rich curriculum with plenty of exciting opportunities to develop cultural capital.

In the summer term, the children also spend a lot of time thinking about and discussing their transition to high school. Of course, the Year 6 children also work hard, particularly in preparation for their SATs in May, but they still find plenty of time to enjoy their final year at primary school.

Our Heyday Film 2023

A group of our Year 6 pupils worked with HeydayUK to create this film about a mysterious door in the Year 6 cloakroom. This film was awarded ‘Best Scripted Film’ at the Heyday Awards at the British Film Institute and showcases what can be achieved creatively through teamwork and determination to ‘do our best’.

It followed an intensive day of filming at the school and is a credit to the ingenuity, talent and enthusiasm of the pupils as well as the vision of Jack Widdows who heads up the Heyday team. This is the seventh film that we have collaborated on and we look forward to our next project!
