Year 2Welcome to Year 2
In Year 2 children are encouraged to build on and demonstrate the greater independence seen in Year 1. They will begin to share their opinions and understanding at School Council & Sports Council meetings.
The Year 2 playground enables children to continue their physical development as they have access to a variety of climbing equipment and a wonderful mound area for children to enjoy games and sit and engage in conversation.
The Year 2 curriculum is exciting and enquiring with great opportunities to explore our local area and beyond and support their understanding of the wider world.
Learning towards the summer term is structured to support the children through their transition into KS2.

Home Learning
Phonics
Phonics folders are sent home on Friday – due following Thursday
Maths
Maths homework set on Friday – due following Thursday
Reading
Weekly reading books are sent out on your child’s reading day
Spellings
Spellings are set on a Friday and children are tested the following Thursday
