Dear Parents/Carers,

As we enter the last half term of the year, all year groups will be taking part in three or four ‘Relationships Education’ lessons within the next few weeks. This forms part of our Health Education programme and is in line with the London Borough of Ealing’s scheme of work for Personal, Social and Health Economic (PSHE) Education. Our lessons are thorough, sensitive and age-appropriate, involving careful discussion and content. We will be using resources included in the Ealing Local Authority PSHE scheme of work but also drawing on the National Curriculum for Science (2014).

The video above will take you to a recorded parent information presentation (available on the school website ‘curriculum/relationships education’) which outlines the objectives covered for each year group along with some of the resources that will be used in class. If, after viewing the presentation, you have any questions regarding our Relationships Education curriculum at North Ealing, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s teacher with your queries.

In addition, please find the scheme of work linked below.

Please note that Relationships Education is now a statutory part of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). Parents of Y6 children should be mindful that there is one non-statutory lesson included in the Year Six programme relating to fertilisation and pregnancy. Again, if you have any concerns about this after watching the presentation, please speak to me or your class teacher.

Kind regards,

Karen McCready, (PSHE co-ordinator.)
