KS1 Singing Assembly Songs

1.
We all need a helping hand to lift us when we fall.
To hear a kind, supportive voice
When we’re sad and feeling small.
To see a friend beside us can make us feel like new,
Cos the gift of love can help us all pull through.

Will you spread a little bit of sunshine when it’s grey?
Spread a little bit of sunshine,
And drive the blues away.
Generate some laughter and fun along the way,
Will you spread a little bit of sunshine when it’s grey and brighten up a day?
Brighten up a day, brighten up a day,
Brighten up a day.

2.
Share a smile with a friend and see their day improve.
A little generosity but its impact can be huge.
A neighbourly “good morning”,
An easy-going “hi”,
It’s the gift of love that helps us all get by.

Will you spread a little bit of sunshine when it’s grey?
Spread a little bit of sunshine,
And drive the blues away.

Generate some laughter and fun along the way,
Will you spread a little bit of sunshine when it’s grey and brighten up a day?

Brighten up a day, brighten up a day.
Brighten up a day, brighten up a day.

Brighten up a day, brighten up a day.
Brighten up a day, brighten up a day.

1.
Wake up early, leap from bed,
Put a smile on your face.
Pretty soon you’ll see it spread,
Smiles all over the place.

If you start the day
In a brilliant way,
Being friendly to all you see,
Then you just might find,
That they’re equally kind,
Because that’s how it tends to be.

2.
Look for laughter, look for joy,
Share the moments of fun.
There’s a world here to enjoy,
Let’s embrace it as one.

If you start the day
In a brilliant way,
Being friendly to all you see,
Then you just might find,
That they’re equally kind,
Because that’s how it tends to be.
(x2)

With tuppence for paper and strings,
You can have your own set of wings.
With your feet on the ground
You’re a bird in flight,
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite
Oh,

Let’s go fly a kite,
Up to the highest height!
Let’s go fly a kite
And send it soaring.
Up through the atmosphere,
Up where the air is clear,
Oh let’s go fly a kite.

When you send it flying up there,
All at once you’re lighter than air,
You can dance on the breeze
Over house and trees,
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite.
Oh,

Let’s go fly a kite,
Up to the highest height!
Let’s go fly a kite
And send it soaring.
Up through the atmosphere,
Up where the air is clear,
Oh let’s go fly a kite.

(Part 2)
Ah,
Ah,
Ah,
Ah,
Ah, trees,
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite.
Oh,

Let’s go fly a kite,
Up to the highest height!
Let’s go fly a kite
And send it soaring.
Up through the atmosphere,
Up where the air is clear,
Oh let’s go fly a kite.
