    Equality at North Ealing

North Ealing Primary School (NEPS) is committed to the Equality Act 2010. This was introduced to ensure protection from discrimination, harassment and victimisation on the grounds of specific characteristics (referred to as protected characteristics).

Our School is truly inclusive and actively celebrates diversity. We believe that all members of our community are of equal worth and we want this to be the experience of everyone. We demonstrate our commitment to this by prioritising the well-being and progress of every child in our school and by striving to ensure that all members of our community are treated fairly in all situations.

We believe that the Equality Act provides us with a framework to support our commitment to valuing diversity, tackling discrimination, promoting equality and fostering good relationships between people. It also ensures that we tackle any issues of disadvantage and underachievement of different groups represented in our school as soon as we find any.

See the Equality information and objectives document.

    Anti-Racism at North Ealing

At North Ealing, our goal is to empower children, staff and parents to be advocates for equality, fostering a community that celebrates differences and works together to dismantle racism.

We are currently focusing on five equality objectives:

    1. Promoting an Inclusive Curriculum:

Objective: Ensure that the curriculum reflects diversity and promotes inclusivity by incorporating materials and resources that represent the cultures, backgrounds, and experiences of all minoritised groups of children.

    2. Addressing Attainment Gaps:

Objective: Implement targeted interventions to reduce and eliminate any identified attainment gaps for all minoritised groups ensuring that all children have equal opportunities to excel academically (data, learning walks, surveys).

    3. Staff Development and Training:

Objective: Provide ongoing training/support for school staff, children and parents on racial literacy to effectively identify and tackle disproportionality within our school and create a truly anti-racist learning environment.

    4. Developing Policies

Objective: Implement and regularly review policies and procedures to ensure a school culture where discrimination, and prejudice are not tolerated, and where all children feel safe and respected.

    5. Empowering Parents

Objective: Build and sustain parent forums for all parents to empower them to play an active role in their children’s education.
